There is something special about painting flowers. They are familiar to us, yet when we take the time to observe them closely, they reveal endless details.
A single flower can offer an incredible variety of colours, shadows and textures. The way light touches a petal or falls between leaves can completely change the atmosphere of a composition.
When I paint, I am interested in those subtle differences. I enjoy exploring how colour can create emotion and how light can give a painting a sense of movement and life.
Painting flowers also gives me the opportunity to slow down. It is a process of looking, observing and discovering.
Each painting develops in its own way, and sometimes the most beautiful details are the ones that appear unexpectedly along the way.
For me, that is part of the joy of painting: transforming something from nature into a personal story on canvas.
